Sultanxda’s Unofficial LineageOS For OnePlus 3/3T Updated to Android 7.1 Nougat

Sultanxda is no stranger here on XDA-Developers and our forums. He is best known for his unofficial LineageOS (previously CyanogenMod) builds for OnePlus devices which incorporate his custom fixes and improvements, with a focus on the camera prowess of the device.

On the OnePlus 3 and 3T, Sultanxda‘s ROM was available on Android 6.0 Marshmallow base in the form of unofficial CyanogenMod 13 since the early days of the OnePlus 3. Despite Android 7.1 Nougat’s general availability for both the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T devices on both AOSP-based ROMs and on OxygenOS-based ROMs, Sultanxda chose stability over the bleeding edge and waited until he felt that the LineageOS branch was stable enough for him to begin his work.

With the release of his unofficial LineageOS 14.1 build with Android 7.1 Nougat as base, the ROM is now at a stability deemed distributable and ready for daily use by the developer. The ROM also includes Sultanxda’s custom kernel which is built on Nougat for Snapdragon 820/821 base from Qualcomm.

  • Antibanding control
  • Exposure control
  • Denoise control
  • Face detection
  • HDR
  • Many other manual controls
• Many other misc. performance and stability improvements under the hood

Since root access is not included in the ROM upon installation, you need to separately flash SuperSU or alternatives to get root. Excluding root access by default means that users who rely on SafetyNet-associated features can use the ROM without any additional effort, while others also have the option to continue customizing their experience as they please.
