Sony on May 14 booked a 1.26 billion USD annual loss and warned of another shortfall this year, blaming costs tied to its exit from the personal computer business as it undergoes a painful restructuring. Sony’s new factory in Thailand will be the first one the company has built since they constructed the one they have in Beijing in 1995. The new smartphone plant will handle chip mounting all the way through to the assembly of the device.
